Hecho Inc. is a Brooklyn-based design and construction firm whose partners, Phil Morgan, John Kole, and Jeff Kaufmann, are responsible for the construction, development, and launch of over seventy-five bars and restaurants in New York City. Hecho's projects embody a discerning utilization and creation of space, eye-popping treatment of design, and an ongoing re-invention of construction and engineering techniques. They have won a reputation for their bold and exceptional blend of design, function, and fabrication, producing spaces that exude style and enable a client's concept and operation to be wholly realized.

      The firm was founded in 2004 by partners Phil Morgan and John Kole, who met in the spring of 1998 when both were living in Paris. In 2001 they re-located to New York in order to intensify and broaden their knowledge in bar and restaurant operations. Their work together resulted in a mutual desire to build upon their experience and pursue a larger, more comprehensive approach to bar and restaurant development in New York City.

       Since 2004, Hecho Inc. has expanded its operations outside New York City and the US. Current or completed projects can be found in Puerto Rico, London, Paris, and California. Morgan and Kole have also expanded their partnership with the addition of one-time lead project manager, Jeff Kaufmann, in 2011. Kaufmann’s inclusion in the partnership filled a growing need to keep up with the increasing demand and expansion of the company.

      Beyond designing and building combinations of bars and restaurants, music venues, and residential projects, Hecho Inc. owns & operates the Brooklyn bar and restaurant, Building on Bond, along with a managing partner, Jared Lewis. The company also maintains partial ownership and investments with other successful bars and restaurants throughout Brooklyn and Manhattan, namely Watty & Meg, La Defense, and Palmer’s, and administers all of its operations from the office they built and designed on Bond Street in the Boerum Hill neighborhood of Brooklyn.
